Performance-Based Fibre Design for Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC)

The paper presents a method to establish performance-based fibre design of high-strength micro steel fibres for ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). considers effects layout, orientation, and type loading (quasi-static cyclic) expands the current approach using experiences suitability testing results. is based on so-called utilization rate, which determined via pullout tests in UHPC under quasi-static as well high cyclic with varying orientations embedment depths. rate straight 0.27 average considering measured tensile strength 0.50 manufacturers specifications. For inclined fibres, additional bending stresses occur at exit point channels, leading significant increase local stress. Therefore, approximately 60–70% higher than case embedded (comparing it strength). Comparing manufacturer’s specification, increases 1.00. Under loading, result load amplitude, reduced fatigue resistance premature rupture, underlining feasibility design.
